LEAD RESEARCHER (Short-term 0.4 FTE)

Overview

We are initiating a project that requires an experienced physicist specialising in vibrations and acoustics who can act in the role of lead researcher.

This is a short-term 0.4 FTE role for a duration of ten weeks initially, with a view to ultimately transitioning to full-time ongoing, dependent upon funding.  The position may also suit a semi-retired or academic physicist who is willing to undertake the initial planning phase and subsequently hand over as the role transitions from part-time to full-time.

Duties

The duties of the position in the immediate term include:

  • Identify resources required for the project;
  • Develop high-level timelines for the project;
  • Develop the research framework for the project including quality management protocols;
  • Conduct initial research relating to the project’s aim and identify appropriate methods to progress larger-scale research;
  • Represent the scientific function of the company (as required) during discussions with potential high-value project funders.

The Applicant

To be considered for the position, applicants must be able to demonstrate a research history in the field(s) of acoustics and/or vibrations and have experience in planning research projects that require multiple resources.

It is not essential for applicants to have previously held a lead researcher position but it is expected that the appropriate candidate will have the ability and willingness to perform all the duties associated with the role.

Triochron Industries is a Tasmanian-based company however there is no reason why a suitable applicant wishing to work remotely would be precluded from consideration.   Applicants must however be Australian residents for taxation purposes.

Salary

Salary for this position is $80,000pa (pro-rata).
